Jeanne Sue Kilgore, age 75, Joplin, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Mercy of Joplin.
Jeanne was born January 11, 1941 in Joplin, daughter of the late Frank Moore and Luetta Murphy Moore. She graduated from Joplin High School, then attended Joplin Community College before receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Pittsburg State University. She taught for years at several locations, including overseas, mainly with first and second grade students. She was of the Baha'i Faith. She loved animals, riding horses, classical music, both listening, and playing on her flute. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by a sister, Ceceila.
Survivors include her husband, William Kilgore, whom she has loved since her 7th grade class; her son, Brent Kilgore, her daughter, Hanna Kilgore both of Joplin; brother, Terry Moore and his husband Richard Cox of Carbondale, Illinois.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with family and friends officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.
