Mary Buckner

Mary N. Buckner, age 77, of Quapaw, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Higher Calling Nursing Home in Quapaw.

Mary, daughter of the late Floyd and Edith (Parson) Charles, was born on October 29, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. She was united in marriage to William Buckner on October 27, 1984 in Sherman Oaks, CA. He preceded her in death in 2008.

Mary was formerly employed with Petro Truck Stop in Joplin working in housekeeping for several years until her retirement.






 

She was a faithful member of the Warrens Branch Baptist Church of Seneca for many years where she began long lasting friendships. She enjoyed hosting bible studies and “ladies’ nights” of food, movies, and laughter in her home. She was a loving and kind friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her sisters, Julie Hamilton, and her husband, Roger, of Seneca, Ruth Ann Golden, and her husband, Carl, of Baxter Springs, Carolyn Olson, of Baxter Springs, and Jessie Martin, of Florida; nieces and nephews, Courtney, Candace, Sarah, Elizabeth, Daniel, Jacob, Tedra, Denise, Jay, and Less; cousin, David Vallanced, of Arkansas; numerous friends; and extended family members.








Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Spring Valley Cemetery in Tipton Ford. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 14th beginning at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
