Allen Miller

Alan Miller 75, of Parsons, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Elm Haven East, Parsons, KS surrounded by his family.

Alan was born on October 29, 1947 to Bobby and June (Wing) Miller in Joplin, MO. Alan attended Meadow View Grade School, graduating from Labette County Community County High in 1965. Following graduation, Alan attended Labette Community College and received his associates degree. Alan enlisted in the Army Reserves in Parsons.

Alan enjoyed all things ‘hunting’, whether that be deer, elk, hog, dove, rabbit, frog. He loved the outdoors and everything in it. Alan was a farmer and gardener at heart. His gardens were always full and plentiful. Sweet corn was not a small issue for him, as he always planted at least an acre. Corn day was a production, as the whole family had their duty station. For several years Alan was an official at the local demolition derbies.

His greatest joys came from spending time with his family. His grandchildren brought out his softer side

On November 2, 1979, Alan and Martha Ferguson were united in marriage in Miami, OK, Martha survives of the home.

Son’s – D.C. Hennen of Cherryvale, KS; Doug (Lori) Hennen of Duenweg, MO; Dustin L Miller (Michelle) of Elk City, KS and Darren Miller of Altamont, KS

9 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren

Mother – June Miller of Parsons, KS

Brother - Larry Miller of Eudora, KS

Alan was preceded in death by his father and a grandson, Briar Lee Miller

The funeral service will be at 10 am, Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. Burial will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons, KS. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
