Billy Sullivan

Billy G. Sullivan, Jr., age 76 of Riverton, passed away at Quaker Hill Skilled Nursing Facility at 10:35 AM on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

Billy was born in Webb City, MO on February 11, 1947 to the union of Billy G. Sullivan, Sr. and Charlene A. (Busby) Sullivan. He had worked in the maintenance department at B.F. Goodrich in Miami, OK for several years until the plant closed, and later worked at Riverton Building Supply and Joplin Venetian Blind. He enjoyed all things outdoors, especially fishing, gambling at the local casinos, and was an avid guns and ammunition enthusiast. He was a skilled craftsman and all-around handyman who could build, fix, and repair anything.

He was united in marriage with Suzan (Carver) Sullivan in Joplin, MO on March 24, 1978. She survives.

Additional survivors include one son, Robert "Bobby" Sullivan (wife, Vicki) of Webb City, MO; five daughters, Becky Talkington of Joplin, MO, Kathy Taylor (husband, Eric) of Carthage, MO, Melinda Sullivan of Carthage, Callie Sullivan-Alexander of Riverton, KS, and Courtney Parker (husband, Shawn) of Joplin; one brother, Johnny Sullivan (wife, Debbie) of Oronogo, MO; one sister, Joyce Patton of Reeds, MO; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy, Sr. and Charlene Sullivan; one sister, Landra Sargent; and one brother-in-law, Brent Patton.

Mr. Sullivan has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. A celebration of life for Billy will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Riverton Community Building from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
