(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Dorothy Francies Phillips, of Springfield, MO, departed this life on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO at the age of 97.
She was born on October 20, 1925 in Everton, MO to Shelby and Ruth (Jones) Meade. Dorothy graduated from Everton High School. She was a long-time member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Greenfield. Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker, and she had worked at the Dade County Nursing Home.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Shelby and Ruth Meade; her first husband, Donald Lamar Crouthamel; her second husband, John Franklin Phillips Jr.; two sons, Larry Dean Phillips and John Franklin Phillips III; and two sisters, Deane Meeks and Betty Ruth Meade.
Survivors include her son, Donald Eugene Crouthamel; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Sinking Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral chapel. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
