Gwen Clements

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date for Gwen J. Clements, 75, who died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, at National Healthcare in Joplin, following a lengthy illness.

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Connie Shelton, Joplin; seven children and stepchildren, Josetta Schnaufer and husband Craig, Bryan Jenkins, Jennifer White, Allison Rhodes and husband Mark, Angie Eischeid, Michelle Smith and her husband Shane and Phillip Clements and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as one niece and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Shelton; her father, Joseph Shelton and her husband, David Clements.

Mrs. Clements was born Dec. 31, 1947, in Lamar, to Joseph L. Shelton and Alice M. (Bartlett) Shelton. She married Dave Clements on Dec. 5, 1987, in Lamar, where they resided until 2015.

She thoroughly enjoyed being a Nana to all the grand-babies, even the ones that were not really hers. She loved lighthouses, yellow tulips the beach in Lompoc, Calif., Days of Our Lives and her family.
