Ed Wininger

Edmond Doyle “Ed” Wininger, age 79, of Joplin, passed away on February 24, 2016, at his home following a long illness.

Ed was born on December 7, 1936 in Carthage, Mo., the son of the late Vernon and Nona (Hill) Wininger. He has been a lifetime area resident with the exception of the six years he spent in Oregon. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1954. He served in the United States Marine Reserves. He married Betty L. Bennett in Eugene, Or. in March of 1968, together they raised their blended family. He owned and operated Wininger Realty in Joplin and also worked with Brookman Realty. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #345 AF & AM. He was also a member of the MLRA and was one of the first realtors of the Millionaires Club.

He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Betty L. Wininger, Joplin; his children Rick Turner and wife Terry, Joplin, Mardisa Rich and husband Jerry, Granby, Mo., Dan Turner, Baxter Springs, Ks., Tim Turner and wife Donna, Walnut Grove, Mo., Trudy Fort and husband David, Carterville, Mo., Ed Wininger, Joplin, Joe Turner and wife Vicki, Carterville, Mo., Gary Wininger and wife Chrystal, Joplin, and Shawn Wininger and wife Tiffany, Joplin; three brothers, Jerry Wininger and wife Janet, Joplin, Norman Wininger and wife Sharon, Joplin, Dan Wininger and wife Kathy, Joplin; twenty-nine grandchildren, and numerous great & great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Wininger in 1987; and a brother Ronnie Wininger.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor John Pigg will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors in care of the mortuary.
