Barbara Clay

Barbara Louise Clay, Neosho, MO entered into rest Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the age of 94 years, seven months, and 22 days. She was born Wednesday, May 26, 1926 in Pilot Point, Texas, the daughter of John and Ana (Nettleton) Edelman. 

Barbara married John Louis Clay on Saturday, January 6, 1945 in Kansas City, KS; he preceded her in death on September 16, 1991. 

Barbara was a member of the Catholic faith. She loved animals, crossword puzzles, and music. Barbara had previously been employed as a carrier for the Neosho Daily News. 








Barbara is survived by four children, John Clay Jr. and wife, Paula of Joplin, MO, Janet Hegland and husband, Jim of Bismarck, ND, Chuck Clay and wife, Brenda of Neosho, MO and Shawn Clay and wife, Kim also of Neosho; ten grandchildren, Richard Clay, Stacy Kitzman, John Kitzman, Jessy Hegland, David Hegland, Dawn Hogan, Angela Dean Ramirez, Randy Dean, Joe Cumming, and Brandi Anderson; numerous great grandchildren; and three nieces, Barbara Curtiss, Georgetta Loving, and Joyce Weaver. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by one sister, Helen (Edelman) Blakely, and one grandson, Richie Dean.

Private family services will be held. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to honor Barbara be made to Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
