(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Betty “Karen” Harris-Adkins, 80, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 in Pryor, OK. Karen was born May 19, 1940 in Newton County, MO to Lawrence and Marguerite (Link) Berner.
In her younger years, she managed the old Lee Ru Dairy east of Carthage for 17 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Carthage. Karen was an avid sports fan, especially basketball and MSSU. She was a master quilter and a member of various quilting clubs in Joplin.
Karen was united in marriage to David Harris for 32 years; he preceded her in death. On June 1, 1992, she married Gail Adkins in Walnut Creek, CA; he preceded her in death in 1996.

Karen is survived by two sons, Michael Harris (Kathy) of Carthage and Steve Harris (Debbie) of Joplin; one daughter Sherrie Lambeth (Keith) of Pryor, OK; two brothers, Larry Berner and Roy Berner; one sister, Freda Gentry; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Amanda Sharp; and one sister, Nancy Francisco.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at Park Cemetery in Carthage.
