Gladys McQuillan

Gladys Lucille (Buchanan) McQuillan, 86, of Noel went to be with her Lord and loved ones on January 23, 2021. Gladys was born on August 1, 1934 to Frank and Katie Buchanan at home in Saratoga Springs, Mo. She lived near her old home place her entire life.

Gladys attended school at the old one room school house in Saratoga Springs through the 8th grade and finished high school at Southwest City. 

She was united in marriage to Edward McQuillan on May 17, 1952. Ed and Gladys were married 52 years and were very devoted to each other. They raised 3 daughters, Vicki Barth, Beverly On-the-Hill and Terri Jewett (deceased). 








Gladys and Ed operated the feed store in Noel for over 40 years and many people have fond memories of their time there. Many people that knew Gladys may also remember her as the “Avon Lady”.

Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Ed and her daughter Terri Jewett and son-in-law Frank On-the-Hill Sr.

Survivors include daughter Vicki and husband Robert of Noel, Beverly On-the-Hill of Southwest City and son-in-law Gary Alan Jewett of Noel. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren Jennifer Yeager and husband Matt, Nickolas Jewett and wife Jennifer and Michael On-the-Hill and wife Nancy as well as 5 great-grandchildren, Trinity On-the-Hill, Toby On-the-Hill, Elle Yeager, Jenna Jewett and Emily Yeager. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends as well will miss Gladys’ smile and friendly face.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Southwest City Cemetery with Bro. Hank Gorman officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Tom Beck, Jeff Beck, Buddy Mead, Billy McQuillan, Frank On-the-Hill, III and Rick Buchanan. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. The family requests that face masks be worn at all times. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Noel, Missouri.
