Jeramiah Durbin- November 24, 1980 to January 20, 2021
Growing up in a small community Jeramiah was known by all of his family and friends as Durb. He had a smile that lit up a room and a heart the size of Texas. As we have all been sharing and reflecting on his life in the last few days, every story ends with hysterical laughter and someone almost injured. That was the Durb we all knew and loved. He only knew how to approach every situation at 100 mph.
When he was young, he lived and breathed the games of football and baseball. He always wore jersey #20 and his natural talent was a force to reckon with on the field. Serving time in the Marines, he was stationed in Japan, discovering his love of the open waters and his passion for travel.
As an electrical lineman, his career path eventually took him to the west coast working in California doing a job he loved. He was always a seeker. While living on the coast, he developed an interest in cooking. He claimed bragging rights to several seafood signature dishes he made for the holidays.
All those that loved him will never forget his larger than life presence and his quick hand grabbing the tab for dinner. He will be laid to rest next to his cousins Jantsen and Dallas. All three boys were raised together, and it seems fitting they now share the same shade tree. Durb, Uncle JJ, until we all see you again, take care of the boys, your Nanny Bird, and Pops.
Jeramiah is survived by his Mother, Tam Durbin; Father, Terry Durbin; two sisters Janon Durbin and Jill (Jordan) Langland; one Niece Dawsyn Decker; two Nephews, Summit and Straton Langland; Aunts and Uncles, Mark and Cheryl Hawkins, Ralph VanDorn, Greg and Kim Ketcham, Randy and Pam Cope, Mike Durbin, Gary and Joyce Jones, David Durbin, Debbie Durbin, Jim and Rose Durbin; as well as many cousins.
