Marjorie Davis

Marjorie Francis Davis, born March 23, 1959, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 3:58 p.m. at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. Marjorie was born in Carthage, MO, to Harry E. Davis and Shirley J (Mallory) Davis. 

She graduated from Carthage High School in 1977 and went on to Maple Woods Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, MO where she completed the Veterinary Technology Program. Marjorie also attended Missouri Southern Baptist University in Joplin, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. 

She worked as a veterinary technician for several veterinarians in the Carthage and Joplin area and, for the last 19 years, worked for Midwest Veterinary Supply.







Marjorie loved God, her family, and her friends with her whole heart. Her hobbies were knitting, beekeeping, vacationing with her family, and being an active member at her church, First Church of the Nazarene in Carthage. She was known for her generous heart and regularly participated and donated her time to her church and those in need. She even went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic where she helped with the construction of a church.

Marjorie is survived by her mother, Shirley Davis; one sister, Kathryn Harris; one brother, Charles Davis (Karen); six nieces and nephews, Courtney Harris, Rachele Harris, Aaron Harris (Megan) . . . and one great nephew on the way, Mikaela Werner (Kelly), Justin Davis (Erin) and Payton Davis.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Davis, and brother-in-law, Philip Harris.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at Dudman Springs Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Nazarene Children’s and Teens’ Camp in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
