Jessica Sargent

Jessica Sargent, age 44, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her home.

Jessica was born on March 17, 1976 to Charles Sargent Sr., and Laurie (Sprouse) Winters in Joplin.

She loved to help women and children through the Watered Gardens, Washington Center. She dedicated every first Sunday of the month to volunteering her time cooking for those at the center. 








She was a devoted and caring mother, that took great pride in raising her four children as a single mother. Her contagious smile, laughter, and the frequent forgetfulness to use her “indoor voice” will be missed.

Survivors include her father, Charles Sargent Sr., of Oronogo; her mother, Laurie Winters, of Joplin; her four children, Alexis Sargent, of Joplin, Quinten Sargent, of Webb City, Adrian DeCarlo Jr., of Joplin, and Tatum DeCarlo, of Joplin; one brother, Charles “Chuck” Sargent, Jr., and his wife, Mika, of Oronogo; one sister, Candie Robertson, and her husband, Troy, of Enid; her maternal grandmother, Sharon Sprouse, of Carl Junction; and her little dog Bella. Jessica was preceded in death by two children, Austin Clark, and Rayanne DeCarlo; maternal grandfather, Arthur Sprouse; paternal grandparents, Dwight and Jessie Sargent; and her step-father, Grant Winters.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Joplin on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 10:00 am with burial at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation before services on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 am at the church.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
