(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Derek Logan Moss, age 32 of Ozark, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 13, 2021.
Derek was born on August 19, 1988 in Joplin, MO to the union of Vernon Lee Moss and Sandra Louise (Prevo) Moss.
He grew up in Joplin where he attended Joplin High School, before moving to Grove, OK, and then to Ozark, MO where he had resided for the past 6 years. While in Ozark, he owned and operated Moss Heating and Air. Throughout his life, he enjoyed the outdoors, often spending his time hunting and fishing.
Derek was preceded in death by his grandmother, Doris Ledford; one niece, Kloe Simpson; and one uncle, Terry Prevo.
Survivors include his parents, Vernon and Sandy Moss; one son, Makai Logan Moss; three brothers, Devin Moss (wife, Jessica) of Joplin, Shannon Moss (wife, Stacy) of Joplin, and Spencer Moss of Webb City, MO; four sisters, Amanda Samuel (husband, Blake) of Seneca, MO, Cherity Roland of Branson, MO, Whitney Coombes (husband, Kelly) of Joplin, and Krista Moss of Grove, OK; and grandparents, Jim and Sharon Moss of Joplin, MO.
