(From Konantz Warden Funeral Home)Charles William Wood passed away on January 26, 2021. He was born in rural Lamar, MO on March 21, 1932 to Carl and Clara Belle (Davidson) Wood. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1949. He was honored with the FFA American Farmer Degree in 1952.
Charles married Jessie Bula Rogers on June 11, 1953. He served in Korea in the US Army from November 1952 to October 1954.
He returned home after military service and enjoyed farming for the remainder of his life. He owned and enjoyed classic cars and antique tractors.
Charles was a loving father whose family meant the world to him. He was also a longtime member and an elder at the Milford Christian Church.
He is survived by his children, Julia Roskamp of Kannapolis, NC, Jeanette Carpenter of Lamar, MO, and Clark (Cathy) Wood of Lamar, MO; grandchildren, Andrew (Lori) Roskamp, Jessica (Steve) Woods, Janelle (Eli) Orozco, Joci (Kendall) Schumann, Justin Carpenter, Nathan (Megan) Carpenter, Dustin (Carly) Carpenter, Amanda Wood, Caleb (Janessa) Wood, Colby (Emily) Wood, Addison (Jacob) Rice, Casey Wood, and Andrea Wood.
He is also survived by great grandchildren, Phillip (Natalie) Roskamp, Anna Roskamp, Matthew Roskamp, Ella Roskamp, Jackson Woods, Luke Woods, Claire Woods, Sawyer Schumann, Levi Schumann, Paxton Wilderman, Arabelle Carpenter, Charles Wood, Carrington Wood, Cadence Wood, Clancy Wood, Carter Wood, Cash Wood, Colt Wood, Jessie Rice; Great-Great Grandchild, Weston Roskamp; and many nieces, nephews and loving family members.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and son-in-law David Carpenter.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Maranatha Bible Camp.
The family will receive visitors at Konantz Warden Funeral Home on Sunday January 31, 2021 from 5 PM to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at Milford Christian Church at 2 PM on Monday February 1, 2021.
