(From Clark Funeral Home)Juanita 'June' Douthitt Bennett was born June 1, 1935 in Purdy,Missouri, the daughter of Virgil Early and Betty Jane (Haney) Heard. She entered into rest on January 4, 2021 in Joplin at the age of 85.
June was a pastor's wife and traveled extensively with her as he pastored, ministering to others through her music. She was a talented pianist and singer and shared her gift of music with many.
June had worked at Wal-Mart as a operator before retirement. She loved playing the piano, reading her Bible, doing word search puzzles and loving her grandchildren. She was a member of the Bible Holiness Assembly of God.
June married Bobby Lee 'Buck) Douthitt on July 5, 1952 and he preceded her in death on August 28, 1993. She then married M.Y. Bennett on June 10, 1995 and he preceded her in death on June 15, 2016.
She is survived by three children, Rusty Douthitt and wife, Carrie of Miami, Oklahoma, Shelly Wilson and husband, John of Springfield, Missouri and Shenna Douthitt of Joplin; six grandchildren, Whitlee Douthitt, Brittany Douthitt, Bobby Joe Miller, Jennifer Tipton, Anthony Hemann and Sureree Legore; five great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Heard of Ozark, Missouri and Betty Jane Swearengin. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Virgil Heard and Jess Heard; three sisters, Hazel Heard, Margaret Cummins, Twyleh Willard and six half brothers and sisters.
