David Johnston

David Neil Johnston of Fairland, OK passed from this life Monday, October 2, 2023 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was 61.

David was born June 1, 1962 in Miami, OK to Floyd and Doris (Voiles) Johnston. He had lived in Miami and Fairland most of his life. He worked for the City of Grove Utilities Department and was a reserve Police Officer for City of Grove and retired Fireman for Hickory Grove Fire Department. David was a member of James River Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

David is survived by his wife Tammie Louise (Cox) Johnston of the home, 2 sons, Heath Johnston and his wife Jyme Lynn Reno of Jay, OK and Jared Johnston and his wife Kelsey of Pond Creek, OK, 2 brothers, Eddie Johnston of Tulsa, OK and Gary Leon Johnston of Wyandotte, OK, 1 sister, Debra Miller of Joplin, MO and 2 grandchildren, Rayker Johnston and Kadyn Johnston.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Phil Shyers will officiate. Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, southeast of Fairland, OK. 

Health Johnston, Jared Johnston, Tanner Cox, Justin Cox, Lloyd Cox and James Cox will serve as pallbearers. Rayker Johnston, Kadyn Johnston, Eddie Johnston and Gary Johnston will serve as honorary pallbearers.
