(From Ozark Funeral Home)Natalie Armstrong, age 93, Pineville, quietly passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021.
Natalie was born July 27, 1927 in Carrolton, Missouri. She spent most of her childhood in Ft. Scott, KS and Lanagan, MO before moving to Kansas City where she attended high school.
She married Dale Armstrong on December 25, 1945. They spent their early years in Wichita and Wellington, KS where Dale taught flying, then lived in Fullerton CA for four years before coming home to Pineville in 1952.
Natalie was primarily a homemaker and mother to her three children, though she did enjoy her part-time work for a few years at the Pineville Clinic and McDonald County Telephone Company.
As a child of the great depression, Natalie was dedicated to making a happy childhood and better life for her children and grandchildren. She was not an avid sports fan, but rarely missed a ballgame or any other school event if one of her children was a participant. She loved watching her grandchildren play basketball on the driveway, wade in the branch below her house, or swim in the pool in her back yard.
Natalie was an active member of the United Methodist Church since moving to Pineville. She dearly missed seeing her friends in church when unable to attend in recent years due to failing health. She also loved making quilts and reading.
Natalie is predeceased by her mother, Louise Kinslow, father, Mike Thornbrugh, a brother Bill Thornbrugh, and her husband Dale Armstrong.
She is survived by three children and spouses: Steve Armstrong and Susan, Springfield, MO; Mark Armstrong and Barbi, Pineville, MO; and D’Ann Dennis and Scott, Pineville. Natalie has seven grandchildren-Tony Armstrong, Joplin, Tyler Armstrong, Lees Summit, Stephen Armstrong and Megan, Lake St. Louis, Bryan Armstrong and Kirsten, Las Vegas, NV., Cody Dennis, Carl Junction, Trey Dennis, Pineville, and Quinn Norwood and Clay, Carl Junction, MO. She is survived by 11 great-grandchildren: Brody Armstrong, Ashlynn Armstrong, Emma Armstrong, Jack Armstrong, George Armstrong, Trenton Dennis, Via Dennis, Ella Dennis, Lily Dennis, Payton Norwood, Lily Norwood and soon to arrive Tripp Norwood.
