Ron James

Ronald Merl James, age 83, passed away at his home January 6, 2021 following an illness.

Ron was born May 11, 1937 in Nashville, MO. His parents were Merl and Pauline (Cotter) James. He had lived in the area most of his life.

He was a farmer. He was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church. Ron enjoyed hunting and for a period of time, worked as a guide and ranch hand at a dude ranch in Montana.








Ron was married to Betty Luan Still on February 28, 1956 in Nashville. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, Matthew James.

He is survived by one son , Will James (wife, Denise), Mindenmines; one daughter, Donita James, Nashville; one sister, Wilma Swadley, Nashville; seven grandchildren, Erik (wife, Rachel) Miller, Wade (wife, Rachel) Miller, Amanda Miller, Elise James, Clarise James, Cora James, and Veronica James; and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
