Stephen Huddleston

(From Parker Mortuary)

Stephen Randall Huddleston, 63, of Baxter Springs, Kansas passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at his home.

Stephen was born July 14, 1957 in North Hollywood, California to Billy Leroy Huddleston and F. Anne Turnage. He graduated from Baxter Springs High School, where he was involved in many sports including wrestling, boxing, baseball, and football.

Stephen began working as a plumber at age 17 and worked for Satterlee Plumbing, a position he held for 35 years. He was a valuable asset to the company with his ability and willingness to help mentor upcoming plumbers.

Baseball was particularly special to Stephen, so much so that later on in life he was very involved in Riverton’s little league. He also played an integral part of bringing t-ball to the boys and girls of Southeast Kansas, something that many of these kids hold near and dear to their hearts to this day.

Survivors include his two sons, Joseph Huddleston and wife, Katie, of Riverton, Kansas, and Philip Huddleston of Baxter Springs, Kansas, and their mother, Sarabeth Huddleston; three grandchildren, Coulter, Violet, and Thatcher; his mother, Anne Green, of Sheridan, Arkansas; sister, Deborah Higginbotham, of Webb City, Missouri; brothers, Terry Huddleston of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jason Kirby of Wichita, Kansas; and his step-mother, Carolyn Huddleston, of Galena; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Billy Huddleston, and brother, Rodney Huddleston.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin with Kenny Howey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
