Frankie Ray Aldridge, age 88 of Joplin, Mo. passed away early Friday, January 1, 2016 at Freeman Hospital following an illness.
Frankie was born on November 23, 1927 in Joplin, the son of the late Charles and Mable (Aggus) Aldridge. He has been a lifetime area resident, Frankie proudly served his country as part of the United States Navy. Following his service, he became a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service for 28 years before retiring in 1988. When Frankie wasn’t spending time with his family or tending to his lawn, he really enjoyed fishing.
He married Janet Hopkins on February 18, 1949, she survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Gregory Aldridge and Richard Aldridge both of Joplin; one daughter, Debra Farrar of Joplin; three brothers, Charles Aldridge of Eugene, Or., Dale Aldridge of Creswell,Or., Bob Aldridge of Waurika, Ok.; four sisters, Dorothy Smith, Carol Wheeler, Diane Grijalva all of Eugene, Or., Janice Aldridge of California; three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jack Aldridge, two sisters, Delores Robart and Judy Pendergraft, and two grandsons, Richard Aldridge and Steven Aldridge.
Frankie is to be cremated, the family will receive friends during a memorial visitation to be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
