(From Arnold Funeral Home)Debbie Jean (Barker) Usnick, 52, of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at her home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Debbie was born on Sept. 19, 1968 in Mexico, the daughter of Howard W. and Shirley (Gibbons) Barker. On July 4, 1995 in Jefferson City, she married Thomas E. Usnick.
Mrs. Usnick was a 1986 graduate of Community R-6 High School. She then attended William Woods University in Fulton.
Debbie had worked for ADM and was currently working home health care with her mother. She had been on the Board of Directors for the Audrain County Historical Society.
Mrs. Usnick had a passion for horses and travelling, especially to Cabo San Lucas. Shopping, most notably for Coach purses, and music were her loves. Above everything else, Debbie loved her grandchildren dearly.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Usnick of the home; her mother, Shirley Barker of Mexico; five children, Robert (Linda) Usnick of St. Thomas Virgin Islands, Emily Smith of Mexico, Christopher (Samantha) White of Webb City, Katie (Cody) Burson of Mexico, and Casey Usnick of Mexico; seven grandchildren, Anthony Kolks, Kyle Usnick, Sara Usnick, Lauren Bryan, Mason Payne, Ethan Smith and Parker Burson; two great-grandchildren, Brileigh Smith and Asher Kolks; one brother, Dan (Robin) Barker of Mexico; her mother-in-law, Barbara Usnick of Marshall; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Howard Barker; and a granddaughter, Hannah Usnick.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Saddlebred Horse Museum. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
