(From Parker Mortuary)John Michael Hickson, age 25, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his home.
John was born February 24, 1995 in Saginaw, Michigan, son of the late Mazena Newson and John Curry. He grew up in Michigan, and graduated from Onaway High School. He worked different jobs over the years, and most recently was working for Alorica.
He moved from Michigan to Joplin a little over 3 years ago. He was known as a fun loving young man, and had a way of lighting up the room when he showed up. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Nwankwo: brother, Maurice Hickson; two sisters, Matina Newson and Johnesha Cusick all of Michigan; father, John Curry of Michigan; and his good friends, Avery Fitzsimmons and Zuhemy Diaz of Joplin.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
