(From Parker Mortuary)Megan Renee Leger, age 30, Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Cox South in Springfield, Missouri after a lengthy illness.
Megan was born August 31, 1990 in Lafayette, Louisiana, and grew up in Church Point, Louisiana where she attended school. She moved to the Joplin area and was working in Springfield for the past few years.
She comes from a large family, and was always the life of the party when they had gatherings.
Megan was a diehard cheese head and a lover of many things including The Titanic, Pokémon Go, and was an avid reader. She loved anything with glitter but mostly she loved her children, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Rusty Leger, and a niece, Destiny Chambers.
Survivors include her daughters; Stormie Leeann McGuirk, Rylee Lynn McGuirk, and Serenity Dawn McGuirk of Springfield; niece, Tia Marie Owens; nephews, Frank Owens III and Felix Benjamin Owens, of Joplin; sisters Jennifer Owens, and husband Frank Owens Jr, of Joplin, Willow and Alexis Leger of Texarkana Tx; father, Harris Leger, and partner, Sara Smith, of New York; mother, Edna Leger, of Springfield; life partner Thomas Burkheart of Springfield; several uncles, aunts, and cousins; and her BELOVED DOG- Lucky Boy!
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
