(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Joyce L. Hern, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Granby House in Granby, MO. Joyce was born October 16, 1936 in Jenks, OK to Thomas and Florence Belle (Cox) Steely.
She had been a Carthage resident for the past 30 years and a homemaker. Her favorite pastimes were sewing and listening to bluegrass music.
Joyce was united in marriage to Donald Hern on March 22, 1985 in Eureka Springs, AR; he preceded her in death February 20, 2017.

Joyce is survived by one son, Tom Jones (Katherine) of Carthage; one daughter, Lisa Robinson (Charlie) of Claremore, OK; ten grandchildren, Taylor, Kahlie (Zach), Aaron, Deidra, David, Kate, Sayra, Tracy, Verlina and Jake, along with several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by one son, Mike Bruton; two brothers, Paul and Leroy Steely; two sisters, Judith Ellis and Frances Steely.
It was Joyce’s wishes to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
