Larry Sunday

Lawrence Jean Cuthbertson Sunday, age 84, Joplin, peacefully went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 8, 2021.

Larry was born November 5, 1936 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, son of the late Jean and Jewell Cuthbertson. He graduated from Miami, Oklahoma High School, and lived in Texas for several years before moving back to the Joplin area. 

He sold mobile homes for years in southeast Oklahoma and Joplin with his company, Rainbow Trailer Sales. He has always had a passion for horses, especially the ones that he raced over the years. 








He enjoyed traveling to different tracks across the country working with his horses. In the last few years his passion turned to getting his hot chocolate from his friends at Joplin Gardens.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two sons, and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sandy Cuthbertson of the home; his son, Christopher Cuthbertson of the home; three daughters, Val Snyder and husband Jimmy of Joplin, Rachel O'Kon and husband Jeff of Adkins, Texas, Susan Cuthbertson of Commerce, Oklahoman and step-daughter, Torie Nance of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandsons, two granddaughters, and several great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

Private memorial service will be held at a later date by family.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Joplin Gardens Nursing Center, and the doctors, nurses, and Pastor Joe, from Avalon Hospice for all their love and care of Larry.
