Seth Schultz

Seth Douglas Schultz, 23, of Columbus, KS, passed away in the early morning on January 11, 2021.

Seth was born in Joplin, MO, on November 20, 1997 to Doug and Donna Schultz. He attended Columbus schools and graduated from Columbus Unified High School in 2016. 

After high school, Seth attended Labette Community College and Pittsburg State University. In his free time, Seth worked on his podcast “Cosmos Crew” discussing how the universe works and operates with the occasional open-minded conspiracy theories. He was an avid video gamer and technology enthusiast. 







He enjoyed being the family “tech guy” and never missed an opportunity to help out or problem solve. Seth loved learning about the universe and all of its unknown. He was a gentle soul that will be missed by family and friends.

Seth was a great little brother, an amazing uncle, and adored his cousins. He is survived by his fur baby, Fio, his parents, Doug and Donna Schultz, of the home, brother Derick Schultz and Amy Butterworth, niece Anistyn Schultz of Columbus KS, sister Autumn (Schultz) and Cody Roberts, nephew Max and niece Emma of Olathe, KS, brother Caleb and Courtney Stultz, nephews Lane and Gabriel and niece Harper of Weir, KS, sister Amber (Stultz) and Hunter Kincaid, niece Naviah and nephew Whitley of Dewey, OK, and paternal grandmother Retha Schultz of Columbus, KS. Seth is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Robert Schultz, and maternal grandparents Donald and LouElla Roth.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Derfelt Funeral Home Columbus, KS. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, service will start at 11:00 with graveside services following.
