Alberta Simpson

Alberta Jeannine Simpson, 82, of Carl Junction, Missouri, departed this life on Friday morning, November 19, 2021, in the comfort of her home after a recent battle with cancer.

Jeannine entered this life on June 25, 1939, in Lawton, Kansas, daughter of the late Albert Alan and Alma May (Morris) McFerron. She was raised in Lawton and was a graduate of Cherokee County High School in Columbus. She moved to Harrisonville, Missouri, in 1965. She was employed by Sprint in Kansas City for thirty years, retiring in 1997. 








In 2000, Jeannine made the decision to move to Carl Junction, where she worked an additional fifteen years for Quest Diagnostics as a medical courier. Jeannine had a strong faith and was a member of Mt. Hope Church of Christ. She enjoyed being on-the-go, attending festivals, listening to music, being outside and spending time with friends and family. Other pastimes she enjoyed were square dancing and shopping. She loved celebrations and was an excellent gift giver. She believed in staying active and was very social.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Cheryl McFerron.

Jeannine is survived by her three children, Karla Rush and husband, Dale, of Carthage, Kevin Simpson of Carl Junction and Karen Banks of Lee’s Summit; four grandchildren, Levi Rush, Chap Banks, Leanna Canfield and Zachary Banks; nine great grandchildren, Koen Rush, Emma Rush, Karter Canfield, Greyson Banks, Aislynn Banks, Chandler Banks, Kooper Canfield, Harlee Banks and Konner Canfield; a sister, Marylyn King of Joplin; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2021, in the chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Victor Knowles officiating. Burial will follow at Carl Junction Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Levi Rush, Chap Banks, Zachary Banks, Zach Canfield, Dale Rush and Jim Cupp. The family will receive friends on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
