Hugh Harrigan

Hugh Edward Harrigan, age 68, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Joplin Gardens in Joplin, Missouri.

Hugh was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on November 5, 1953 to the late union of Hugh Harrigan and Marjorie (Davis) Harrigan. He grew up on a farm in Weir, Kansas. After he completed high school he joined the United States Army. 

He married Linda (Thiolet) Harrigan on August 11, 1991 in Joplin, Missouri. 








He worked for Schreiber Foods as a machine operator for a over 25 years before retiring in 2015. He was a deacon at Hope Baptist Church in Joplin. Linda and Hugh were charter members with Pastor Larry Sparks and Pastor Cliff Thompson at Hope Baptist Church. He loved taking care of and planting plants around the house. He enjoyed sight seeing and traveling once he retired. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.

In addition to his parents, Hugh was preceded in death by his two step-children, Troy Hallam and Mitzie Herd.

Hugh is survived by his wife, Linda; step-son, Chad Hallam; two brothers, Angelo Harrigan and Danny Harrigan; two sisters, Ella Buzzard and Emma Vore; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary with Pastors Larry Sparks and Cliff Thompson officiating. Shawn Harrigan, Jason Thomas, Arron Thomas, Brett Hallam, Justin Herd, and Jimmy Hallam will serve as pallbearers with Shane Read, Jason Nolen, Chris Alverson and Reggie Thiolet as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the special care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
