Margie Smith

Margie N. (Stevens) Smith, 88, of Mindenmines, MO, passed away at 4:48 a.m., Monday, November 22, 2021, at the Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg.

She was born June 20, 1933, at Galena, KS, the daughter of Reverend Thamer and Eva (Davies) Stevens.

On September 16, 1952, she was united in marriage to Wallace F. Smith at the Nashville Christian Church, Nashville, MO. He survives of the home.








Membership was held in the Mindenmines Christian Church, where she was very active in Vacation Bible School and helping with church dinners. Mrs. Smith also had belonged to the Happy Homemakers and the Grannies. She was very active in crafts, making dolls, making wedding cakes and sewing. She loved to fish but her greatest joy was singing and being with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Gary Smith (Sondra) of Mindenmines, MO, and Kevin Smith (Nancy) of Mindenmines, MO, one daughter, Joan Cantrell (Clint) of Mindenmines, MO, one daughter in law, Sally Smith of Carl Junction, MO, one brother, Danny Stevens of Pittsburg, KS, three sisters, Thama Goddard of Halltown, MO, LaVeda Beebe of Prince George British Columbia and Della Rezen of Parkville, MO, nine grandchildren, Melissa Hart, Garrett Smith, Amanda Janssen, Kim Barnhart, Steve Smith, Heather Smith, Thomas Smith, Beth Cantrell and Callista Smith, and three great grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, and Ezra Hart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jerry Smith, one brother, Doyle Stevens, two sisters, Myrlene Jarmin and Vera Watts.

A memorial service for Mrs. Smith is set for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Mindenmines Christian Church, Mindenmines, MO, with Reverend Dan Moss officiating. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date at the Nashville Cemetery. The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Mindenmines Christian Church.
