Gail Greening

Gail Ellen Greening, age 71, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

Gail was born in Nucla, Colorado on September 1, 1950, to the union of James and Elma (Mercer) Patton. She grew up in Fruita, Colorado and was raised by her mom after her dad’s passing when she was a young girl. 








She spent her early years between Colorado and Missouri, settling in Joplin Missouri at the age of 32 after marrying the love of her life, Glenroy “Glen” Greening, on June 10, 1983, in Joplin, MO at Church of the Wildwood surrounded by their best friends, Jack and Billy Highly. Together they spent 31 years before his passing on June 2, 2015.

She loved being outdoors, and gardening, especially tending to her roses and watching butterflies. However, Gail’s favorite thing in the whole wide world was being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gail looked forward to seeing her husband again in heaven to continue their love story. She had seven amazing children: Rodney, James, Christina, Jennifer, stepson’s Marty and Scott, and stepdaughter Heather, Gail will be missed by all who knew her.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elma Patton. Husband, Glen; sisters, Patty Snow and Bonnie Emery; stepson, Scott Greening; and granddaughter, Stormie Chandler.

Gail is survived by her brother, John Patton and wife Phillis of Grand Junction Colorado, sister Deana Gourley and husband Rodney of Salt Lake City, Utah, sister Judy Boss and husband Carl of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; six children, Christina Burrows and husband, Michael, of Neosho, Missouri, Heather Greening and husband Eric Judd of Mexico, Missouri, Jennifer Cloven and husband, Jeff, of Joplin, Missouri, Marty Yager and wife Teresa of Sylacauga Alabama, Rodney Dudley and wife, Marjorie, of Joplin, Missouri, and James Dudley and wife, Rebecca, of Carl Junction; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 6:00–7:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 1:00
p.m. at Osborne Memorial Cemetery with Alan McCamey officiating.

Arrangements are under the special care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
