(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Calvin Dewayne Treece of Carl Junction, MO passed from this life Tuesday, November 16, 20221 at Pittsburg Care and Rehab in Pittsburg, KS. He was 82.
Dewayne was born January 10, 1939 in Columbus, KS to Leslie and Thelma (Leslie) Treece. He hade lived in Carl Junction since 2016 moving there from the Grand Lake, OK area. He was a 1957 graduate of Picher-Cardin High School and received his Master's Degree in Education from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS.
Dewayne was a teacher, coach and middle school principal at Riverton, Schools in Riverton, KS over 30 years. He also owned and operated Dardene's Five Mile over 20 years, Spring River Inn in Riverton, KS, Riverton Quick Stop in Riverton, KS, Crown Video in Joplin and Neosho, MO and KMO Video in Pittsburg, KS.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Lavern Treece on May 26, 2020 and his parents.
Dewayne is survived by 1 son, Joe Treece and his wife Alysia of Rogers, AR, 1 daughter, Kay Fleming and her husband Mike of Pittsburg, KS, 4 grandchildren, Kassie McDaniel, Kendra Graham, Luke Treece and Adam Treece and 5 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Milligan, Dalton McDaniel, Rilynn Milligan, Blayke McDaniel and Allie Milligan.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Galena, KS. Luke Treece, Adam Treece, Dustin McDaniel, Cody Milligan and Dalton McDaniel will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday November 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
