(From Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home)Walter T. Wilson, Jr., age 73, of Verona, Missouri, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born January 25, 1948, in Camden, Arkansas, the son of Walter T. and Rachel Lea (Jones) Wilson, Sr.
Walter was a 1966 graduate of Kingsland High School in Kingsland, Arkansas. After retiring from Union Pacific Railroad, he worked for EFCO in Monett, Missouri and AFB International in Aurora, Missouri. He loved hunting and fishing and attended the Aurora First Baptist Church.
On March 14, 1970, he married Debra M. Logan in Independence, Missouri.
Walter is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debra; two sons, Daniel Wilson of Verona, Missouri and Bryan Wilson and his wife, Amy, of Round Rock, Texas; five grandchildren, Alicia Brixius and her husband, Brett, of Kansasville, Wisconsin, Amber Wilson and Carl Hall, of Lawrence, Kansas, Chase Mayes and Kiley Duvall of Joplin, Missouri, Anasti Wilson of Springfield, Missouri and Tanner Wilson of Marionville, Missouri; one great-grandson; four sisters, Janie Brown and her husband, Albert, of Scotland, Arkansas, Sandra Dyer of Kansas City, Missouri, Marian Sanders of Fordyce, Arkansas and Nancy Rice and her husband, Ryan, of North Little Rock, Arkansas; brother-in-law, JD Logan of Aurora, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rachel and son, Timothy Wilson.
A service with burial will be held at a later date in Flemington, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri.
