(From Knell Mortuary)William John Boston, 89, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Friday morning, November 19, 2021, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage, Missouri. William was born February 6, 1932, in Sloan, Iowa, the son of William Boston and Myrtle (Craig) Boston. He was a 1950 graduate of Central High School, Sioux City, Iowa.
William (Bill) was a proud United States Marine who served his country honorably during the Korean War.
William met the love of his life Alma Sherman in 1982 and spent the next 39 years in courtship with his wife. He worked as a Postal Supervisor for 30 years until his retirement, he enjoyed camping, the outdoors, and spending time in his garden.
William is survived by his wife Alma Irby-Sherman Boston, five children, four stepchildren, 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a sister, Bertha Snyder, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
William’s remains will be inurned at Memorial Park, Sioux City, Iowa at a date and time to be announced later.
