(From Buchanan Funeral Home)Elmer Lee Davis, Sr. age 82 of Monett, MO went to be with his Heavenly Savior on Tuesday evening, November 23, 2021 at his home in Monett.
Elmer was born on April 19,1939 in Joplin, MO son of Dorothy and John M. Davis. On June 28, 1965, Elmer married his sweetheart, Kathy Moreno and they had 4 children. Elmer was a meat cutter in California and later here in Missouri for Consumers Grocery Markets. After retiring from Consumers he worked a number of years for International Dehydrated Foods of Monett.
Elmer proudly served his country in the US Army and in 1997 he retired from the Missouri National Guard where he served 23 years in the 203D EN BN with C company in Monett, MO. He attended the Briar Patch Fellowship in Anderson, MO
Elmer is survived by two sons, Elmer Davis, Jr., and wife Dianna and Dep Davis, and wife Latricia all of Monett; two daughters, Crystal Judy and her significant other Lamar Burke of Monett and Pearl Wagoner, and husband Dusty of Topeka, Kansas.

He also leaves behind one brother, Kevin Davis and wife Kay of Mt. Vernon, and two sisters Helen Kelly of Joplin and Bernice Davidson of Carthage. Elmer was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren; Stacy Tottingham and husband Simon, Cassie Potts, and husband Craig, EmiLee Newell and husband Weston, Kaylee Davis and Cole Davis, Brittany Welters and husband Andrew, Ethan Davis and wife Alexis, Jade Prospt, Jasmine Burk and husband Dylan, Shana Dewitt, and Genesis Newman and husband Owen. He also had 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy (Knaust) and John Davis.
Services and military honors for Elmer will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Buchanan Funeral Home. Paul Keel will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 29 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later time in the Bethel Cemetery.
