Jerold Schnake

Jerold Wayne Schnake, 70, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Tuesday evening, November 23, 2021, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. Jerold was born September 3, 1951, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of the late J.B. Schnake and Imogean (Boothe) Schnake. 

He was a 1969 graduate of Carthage High School. He then received his degree in electronics from Pittsburg State University. 










Jerold married Sue Bauer on July 17, 1970; she preceded him in death on June 17, 2001. Jerold then married Dea White on April 6, 2002. He worked at Leggett & Platt Wire Mill for 27 years, and retired from Carthage Water & Electric Plant. He was a member of the Mt. Moriah Methodist Church, Carthage, where he was very active and often volunteered. Jerold loved his family, adored his grandchildren, and enjoyed his cows and farming.

Survivors include his wife, Dea Schnake; a son, Chris Schnake (Tiffany), Carthage, Missouri; two daughters, Dawn Thompson (Bill), Monett, Missouri, and Sibra Wormington (John), Sarcoxie, Missouri; a sister, Janice Greene, Springfield, Missouri; and best friend who he considered a brother, Charlie Stark (Cathy), Carthage. Also survived by 1 grandson Clay, 7 granddaughters Mandi (Chase), Amy, Nikki (Britten), Hayley (Zach), Stephanie, Emma, Hope and 4 great grandchildren Emma, Addi, Beau, and Heidi.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 pm, Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Dudman Springs Church Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. Jerold will lie and state from 12:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday November 26, for those who wish to pay their respects. Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of Knell Mortuary.
