Richard Beeler

Richard Beeler, age 67, of Pryor, OK, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Hillcrest Hospital in Pryor.

Richard, son of the late George and Elizabeth (Siler) Beeler, Jr., was born on September 18, 1954 in Joplin. He worked most of his life as a produce manager for grocers in the Tulsa area. 

On October 12, 2001 in Miami, OK he was united in marriage to Cheryl Surber, who survives. 








When he wasn’t working, Richard enjoyed the outdoors being an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast, but was known for his talented abilities as a song writer and guitar player. Richard loved his family and always enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren making memories.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Beeler, of Pryor; sons, James Beeler, and his wife, Vicki, of Joplin, Gary Beeler and Jesse Philpot, both of Pryor; daughters, Tina Hopkins, and her husband, Jerome, of Pryor, and Sandra Thompson, of Langley; grandchildren, Sebastian Agee, Dakota Agee, Caden Agee, Kaitlyn Thompson, Paisley Thompson, Peyton Thompson, and Elias Hopkins; brothers, Greg Beeler, and George Michael Beeler, both of Joplin; sister, Jackie Gardner, and her husband, Gary, of Livingston, MT; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Urijah Hauenstein, Jayzin Hopkins, and Carlea Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 1:00 at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with burial to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
