Bob Cook

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Robert (Bob) Dean Cook on Monday, November 22, 2021, was surrounded by family as he passed from this life to go to heaven following a long illness. He was born on January 19, 1940, in rural Sarcoxie, MO, to Cheslie and Ina Cook. He was the youngest of 10 children and the last sibling join them in heaven.

Bob had many interests and talents. He was very proud of his time singing in his high school choir, as well as playing the piano and guitar. He was self-taught and loved singing and playing for others. He also loved anything outdoors: boating, gardening, raising cattle, working on old cars, and riding his Harley.

If you knew Bob, even a little, you knew immediately that he loved a good joke, to argue politics, serving his community as councilman, and all things USA. He was a proud Teamster member and Yellow Freight driver. If you have forgotten, Bob was a salesman by heart. Throughout his life he worked for various companies and he could sell ice to an Eskimo! Most of all, Bob was proud of his independence and no matter how sick he got, he was going to do it all on his own.

Bob was proud of the life he had built. Bob married Barbara Dawson on March 21, 1997. The two of them loved being together working in the garden, canning, traveling, and being with family.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Williams (Cook) and they created a beautiful family and had 3 children. Bob and Sue were married in 1961.

Bob was preceded in death by parents Cheslie and Ina Cook, Sue Ann Cook, and siblings, Velma, Mary, Carl, Wendel, John, Bertha, James, George, Hal, bonus daughter, Belinda Crockett, and great grandson, Koa Crouse.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara Cook, of the home. Oldest daughter, Connie Divine and husband, Phil of Columbia, MO. Son, Robert (Rusty) R. Cook of Carl Junction, MO. Youngest Daughter, Angela Patterson and husband David of Ozark, MO. Bonus children, Bridget and Larry Radford of Quapaw, OK. Sherrie Sewell of Allen, Texas. James Dawson of Quapaw, OK. 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Sarcoxie Cemetery in Sarcoxie, MO. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
