(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Theo Vernon Catlin III, age 64, died at 5:30 pm, Monday, November 22, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Theo was born July 4, 1957 in Compton, CA. His parents were Theo V Compton II and Brenda (Wilbanks) Compton. He had lived in Galena the past 10 years moving from Joplin.
He lived most of his life in California and moved to Joplin in 1996 from Bakersfield, CA. He was a newspaper Courier for The Joplin Globe. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.
He is survived b his wife, Jerri C (Compton) Catlin of 30 years. Also surviving is one daughter, Dani Casias, San Bernadino, CA; 4 step-children, Theresa Cuevas (Gilbert), Rifle, CO, Aaron Catlin (Angel), Joplin, Christopher Cleave (Jennifer), Galena, and Dallas Catlin Sr, Rifle, CO; two sisters, Tammie Caskey (Craig), Louisiana, and Stacie Catlin, San Bernadino, CA, 8 grandchildren, Thomas, Chrystine, Tyler, Dylan, Maya, Kimberly, Chayton, and Brandy; and two great-grandchildren, Paxon and Willow.
Theo was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena KS for cremation. No services are planned.
