Donald Brown

Mr. Harry Donald Brown, Jr., 62, of Jay, Oklahoma, departed this life on Monday evening, November 22, 2021, in the comfort of his home after a recent battle with cancer.

Donald entered this life on October 31, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas, the only child born to the late Harry Donald Brown, Sr. and Gudlaug Stella (Bjarnadottir) Brown. He was raised in the Jay/Southwest City area and was a 1977 graduate of Jay High School. 








On June 24, 1977, he was united in marriage to Joani Daniels and together they have shared the last forty-four years. Donald was a longtime member and Deacon of First Baptist Church in Southwest City. He was employed by Simmons Foods for forty-one years and was currently serving as project manager of their feed ingredients division. 

Donald loved his community and his family. He was Assistant Chief of the Southwest City Fire Department, completing fire safety courses 1,2&3 along with EMT Basic. He also worked part-time with Freeman Ambulance. He enjoyed RC cars, playing his guitar and riding his Harley with his beloved Joani.

Donald is survived by his wife, Joani Brown of the home; five children, Dustin Brown and wife, Phama, Daniel Brown and wife, Amie, Krystal Law and husband, Ryan, Kathryn Lund and husband, Jim, and Donnie Brown and wife, Brie; and ten grandchildren.

Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Southwest City with Bro. Rob Grimm and Ryan Law officiating. 

Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Dustin Brown, Daniel Brown, Donnie Brown, Ryan Law, Shane Clark and Jerry Ware. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are being directed to Southwest City First Baptist Church, to purchase equipment needed for the Southwest City Fire Department.
