(From Clark Funeral Home)Anthony Karl Ragland, age 63, of Goodman, Missouri, entered into rest at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born June 13, 1958, in Welcome Home, Arkansas, son to the late Blaine and Virginia (Foster) Ragland.
Anthony attended college at Ouachita Baptist University, where he studied to be an ordained minister. He worked carpentry with his brothers for several years, worked for Tyson, and retired from Crowder Industries.
On November 9, 1991, “Ragland,” as he was affectionately referred, married Ruthie Homuth in Neosho and were just six days shy of celebrating their 30th anniversary. Anthony was a devout Christian, loved to watch WWE, and study the history of southern heritage.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Ruthie; two children, Kim Barker and her husband, Adam, Amber Peralez and her husband, Junior; four brothers and their wives, Allen Ragland, James and Shirley Ragland, David and Sherrie Ragland, and Greg and Sherri Ragland; four sisters and their husbands, Margaret and Laverne Sumpter, Janet and Mickey Woods, Kathy Attales, and Carol Grotts; five grandchildren, Kassidy, Austin, Abbie, Isabella, and Melonie; and one great-grandchild on the way.
In addition to his parents, his son, Joshua Andrew Ragland; brother Virgil; sister Francis; sister-in-law, Betty Ragland; two brothers-in-law, Gerard Attales and Jim Grotts; and two grandchildren, Crystal Daugherty and Laci Barker preceded him in death.
Services are under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home. The family will have a private celebration of his life at a later date.
