Betty Sprouse

Betty Sprouse, 88, of Joplin, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021.

Betty was born on March 21, 1933, in Joplin, MO. to the late Clarence and Grace King. She was raised in Joplin and attended Joplin City Schools. 

On February 16, 1952, Betty married the love of her life, Rev. Roy Sprouse. They shared over 69 years together before her passing. Betty was a wonderful pastor’s wife, mother, homemaker, cook, baker, and an accomplished seamstress and dress maker. Her love for the Lord was unmeasurable. 

Betty’s favorite times were pastoring with her husband, spending time with her family and especially with her children and grandchildren. Betty and Roy shared many happy adventures, memories, and years together. She was an inspiration to her family and all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her loving husband Roy; children, Steven Sprouse of Joplin, and Brenda (Bud) Gardner of Alba; sister, Judy (Gene) Sweet of Carl Junction; 4 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her twin boys, and brother Wayne King, and 1 grandchild.
