Eva Traxson

Eva B. Traxson, 102, of Coffeyville, passed away at 5:50 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2021, at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.

Eva Bell Crown was born on September 11, 1919, to William Alvin and Martha Jane (Woolsey) Crown in Decaturville, Missouri. In her early years, Eva grew up and attended school in Decaturville. After the death of her father, Eva moved with her mother to Altamont, where she then lived and attended school, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1938.








After graduating from high school, Eva and Lovell Traxson were united in marriage. The couple lived in Enid, Oklahoma, for a time before moving to the Coffeyville and Angola areas. Since 1947, Eva had lived in Coffeyville. She worked as a sales lady for Bole’s Jewelry and Cantrell Jewelry in Coffeyville.

An active member of the Angola Methodist Church, Eva’s faith in Christ was very important to her. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also enjoyed camping and crocheting.

Survivors include:

One son – Larry Traxson (Gail) of Loma Linda, Missouri

Two grandchildren – Will Traxson (Shannon) of Athens, Texas

Jamie Traxson (Curtis Payne) of Blanchard, Oklahoma

Two step-grandchildren – Melinda DeTar (Dwayne) of Coffeyville, Kansas

Dustin Garrett (Shari) of Independence, Kansas

Two Great-Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers and three sisters.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at the Angola United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Bill Booe. Burial will follow at the Richland Cemetery north of Angola. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the church until the service begins.

Memorials are suggested to the Angola United Methodist Church. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
