Howard King

Howard King, age 91 of Webb City, Mo, passed away Monday May 30, 2016 at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. 

He was born on April 4, 1925 in Robinson, IL the son of Homer and Naomi “Mills” King. Howard was a Veteran serving his country during WWII and the Korean Conflict with the United States Army. He worked as carpenter and was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He married Marietta Webb in September of 2005.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, a wife Polly King, a brother Herald King, and two sisters: Helen Green and Mable York. Survivors include his wife Marietta of the home, a brother Bill King of Frankford, Ky, a sister Lou Kessler of Claremont, IL, a daughter Theresa Lascuola of Everett, Ma, two step daughters: Sandi Flesher and husband Tony of Oronogo, Mo and Shawnna Grigsby and husband Steve of Bella Vista, Ar, nephew Richard Green and wife Virginia of Joplin, Mo, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary with Reverend Bob Easton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery Webb City, Mo. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to service time at the mortuary. The family suggests contributions to Disabled American Veterans in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary.

  1. When I was a young girl we visited my Aunt Pauline and Uncle Howard in Oronogo. I will remember him with fondness in my heart, he was one of a kind, so much fun to be around, and always teasing and joking. Loved to watch wrestling on the television in the back yard. R.I.P.
