Ada Alice Terry, age 97, of Carthage, Missouri, formerly of Reeds, Missouri departed this life on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Ada entered this life on April 4, 1919 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to the union of the late Charley and Nora (Lamb) Cramer. On March 13, 1938 she was united in marriage to Lawton E. Terry, together they shared sixty-nine years until his passing on December 18, 2007. Ada worked many years as a sales clerk for P & N Hirsch Department Store in Carthage, Missouri, retiring in 1981. Ada loved to make quilts, crochet and playing the piano. She attended the Church of God Holiness in Carthage, Missouri and was currently teaching Sunday school. She was involved in all areas of church activities. She had a love for teaching Sunday school, and taught faithfully for many years.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Orville Cramer, Harvey Cramer, Kenneth Cramer and Nelson Cramer; and two sisters, Edith Green and Eva Summers.
Ada is survived by several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Terry are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri with Roy Teed officiating. Burial will follow in Sarcoxie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are John Teed, Kenneth Green, Joseph Allen, Paul Allen, Timothy Allen and Phillip Allen. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
