Robert L. Foshay, Sr., 90, Carthage, MO, passed away Thursday morning, February 16, 2017 at Brookdale Cedar Ridge, Broken Arrow, OK. Robert Lee Foshay was born October 11, 1926 in Kansas City, MO to the late Garrett Foshay and Lucille (Cleveland) Foshay. He graduated from Joplin High School, Class of 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. Robert married Bonnie Rose Quackenbush on February 16, 1947 in Joplin, MO; she preceded him in death on September 2, 2011. He was co-owner of Florette Flower Shop in Carthage for over 50 years, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Carthage. Robert enjoyed golfing at all the local courses and recorded 11 hole-in-ones.
Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Foshay, Jr. (wife Rebecca), Broken Arrow, OK, and Richard Foshay, Belize, Central America; and two grandchildren, Jean Kristen Foshay, Toronto, Canada, and Stephanie Ann Foshay, Tulsa, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one sister, Donna Sohosky.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Park Cemetery, Carthage. Rev. James Lee will officiate. Interment will follow the service.
