Cheryll Kay 'Katie' Gallegos, age 62, Joplin, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Mercy Hospital.
Katie was born March 1, 1954 in Springfield, Missouri to the late Walter Owrey and Beaulah Smith Owrey.
A homemaker, she enjoyed reading and dancing.
Cheryll married Charles A. Gallegos on February 21, 1991 in Webb City. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include her children, Michael Owrey and his wife, Bridget, Springfield, Samara Reeve and husband, Terry, Springfield, David Copley, Kansas City, Angela Copley, Joplin; grandchildren, Billy Greenhaw , Brittnie Harding, Ezekial Owrey, Mary Goodson, Brianna Bailey; great grandchildren, Emily Greenhaw, Hunter Owrey, Kaylee Bailey; and siblings, Marvin David Owrey, Larry Owrey, Betty Miller, Laura Lee Cone and Walter Junior Owrey.
In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by siblings, Leslie Owrey, John Owrey, Carl Owrey and Mary.
A memorial visitation is planned for Thursday from 3-5:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
