Tom Taylor

Thomas “Tom” Paul Taylor, age 64, of Webb City, Missouri, went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his home.

Tom was born September 10, 1952, in Joplin, Missouri, the son of the late Norval Paul Taylor and Mary Lela Hallenberger.

He grew up in Webb City, Missouri, and graduated from Webb City High School class of 1970. He attended Missouri Southern State College. He served in the United States Army and with the Missouri National Guard for eight years.

Tom begin working for his father in the family clothing store, Taylor’s Men’s Wear, in 1967 and upon his father’s retirement he took over the operation of the store, Taylor’s Men’s and Ladies Wear. In 1995 he and his wife, Sharon, opened Hunters Lane Gifts and Antiques. He enjoyed movies and loved watching sports of all kinds.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Lori Ann Williams.

Tom is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon Sanders Taylor, one grandson, Hunter Williams, one sister, Vicki Wilson, and husband, Dennis, one sister in-law, Donna Howard and husband Don, two nieces and several great-nieces and great-nephews as well as one great-great-niece.

Those gentlemen honoring his life by serving as pallbearers will be, Kevin Doran, Ryan Gleason, Tyler Gleason, Danny Perry, George Mayes and Chris Keller. Honorary pallbearers are, Ray France, Buck Derryberry and Wade Palone.



Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Webb City, Missouri. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the church.
