Jamie Galbraith

James Maxwell 'Jamie' Galbraith, age 55, Joplin, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Mercy Hospital after a sudden illness.

Jamie was born November 21, 1961 in Joplin to James Galbraith and Daisy Billings Galbraith and had lived in Joplin all of his life.

He attended MSSU and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Jamie was an administrator at Quaker Hill Nursing Center for several years and a longtime member of the Kansas Healthcare Association. A talented guitarist, Jamie was a member of several local bands, including 'The Blues Blasters'. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting or shooting his guns.

Survivors include two daughters, Jamilyn Galbraith and Kaitlyn Galbraith, both of Joplin; his parents, James and Daisy Galbraith, Joplin; a brother, John C. 'Chad' Galbraith, Joplin and several extended family members, including Randy Billings of Miami, Oklahoma.

Services are planned for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Gary Crawford will officiate. Interment will follow at Hornet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Merrill, Raymond Merrill III, Zach Watkins, Mark Eads, Kevin Gunlock and Daniel Rodriquez. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Martin, Randy Billings, Orville Barnett, Paul Parker, Jeff Matthews, Greg Riddle, Scott Sanger, Jim Landreth, B.G. Gilliam, Scott Brown, along with all his other band members, his fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, and friends .

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Quaker Hill Nursing Center, in care of Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
