Claudia Mae Choate, age 84, Joplin, passed away at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at a local nursing center after an illness.
Claudia was born December 30, 1932 in Gravette, Arkansas to the late John Zimmerman and Ruby M. Woodworth Zimmerman and had lived in Joplin most of her life.
She worked at Eagle Picher Industries in the couples division for twenty five years. She was of the Episcopal faith.
Claudia married William Choate in January 16, 1993 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2005.
In addition to her parents and husband, Claudia was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny, Jerry and Jim.
Survivors include a son, Duane Davis and his wife, Ann, Neosho; a daughter, Susan Fontana and her husband, Michel, Joplin; a sister, Peggy Metcalf, Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one brother, Jack Zimmerman, Texas; six grandchildren, Samantha Young, Adam Dillon, Amber Dillon, Cory Davis, Megan Davis, Sarah Fontana; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Graveside services are planned for Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be an open visitation at Parker Mortuary during normal business hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
